At IVM, our business is all about providing safe and efficient supply distribution. We know companies across the globe continue to focus on the health and safety of their employees and ensuring they have what they need to do their jobs safely.
Automated supply distribution through IVM’s smart locker systems and vending machines is an effective way to ensure safe, contactless distribution of essential supplies, such as employee laptops, IT peripherals or other industry-specific supplies like PPE equipment. Our automated systems allow for social distancing in the workplace by taking out unnecessary human interaction—employees can quickly get the tools they need without talking face-to-face to other employees or passing equipment from one set of hands to another.
We value safety at IVM, and as people return to work, we’re here to help organizations keep their IVM smart vending machines and lockers clean and safe for use. Here are a few tips from our experts for keeping your workplace vending machine or locker system as safe as possible:
1). Wipe it down after every use
Make wiping down your vending machine or locker system with an antibacterial cleaning solution a priority every day. Mix the solution with some water and use a damp, clean cloth to wipe all surfaces, including any buttons, pick-up tray doors, and the glass panel. Our vending and locker systems allow for real-time tracking and alerts, so after each use of the machine, plan to do a full wipe-down right away.
2). Maximize airflow
Position your vending machine or locker system a few inches away from any nearby walls. This will maximize airflow on all sides of the machine and will make daily cleaning of the entire machine more accessible.
3). Encourage social distancing
Outline waiting places with stickers on the floor or via printed signs that tell employees where to stand as they wait their turn to use the vending machine or locker system. Space the waiting places six feet apart to ensure employees are practicing social distancing while they get their supplies.
4). Make sure items in the machine are safe, too
Whether your company is distributing laptops or vending keyboards or gloves, it’s essential to follow safety protocols for items in the machines, too. You can use a diluted alcohol and water cleaning solution to gently disinfect laptops after IT team members have serviced them, and make sure all peripherals like keyboards or cords are unused and properly packaged. For any PPE or industry-specific gear like goggles or masks, follow industry protocol to ensure equipment is new or properly sanitized.
No matter how your workplace may be changing, IVM can help with contactless automated supply solutions to ensure your employees have the supplies they need to do their jobs, whether they’re at home or in the office.
